Edwin C. McAnear, 78, of White Deer, died April 15, 2014 in White Deer. Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Friday, April 18, 2014, at First Baptist Church in White Deer, with Bro. Alan Wilson, pastor, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mr. McAnear was born May 16, 1935 in Palo Pinto County. He married Anna Richardson on February 14, 1975 in Pasadena. He lived in various towns in Texas, New Mexico and Louisiana before settling in White Deer. Edwin and his wife opened CEC Sales which they owned and operated for several years before retiring in 1997. After retiring, he worked as a carpenter, building custom cabinets. He was a very active member of First Baptist Church in White Deer where he participated in Sunday school and helped with remodeling projects. Edwin enjoyed working with his hands, building many different things. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Letha McAnear, one brother and one sister. Survivors include his wife, Anna C. McAnear of the home; two sons, Brent McAnear of Dallas, and Stephen Dalrymple and wife Terri of Sugarland; four daughters, Linda Kelley and husband Dick of Crystal Beach, Pam Earles of Borger, Sharon Woods and husband Bruce of Baytown, and Roxanne Roberts of Dallas; a brother, Kenneth McAnear and wife Ann of Kentucky; a sister, Frances McAnear of Wichita Falls; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, National Center, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas 75231, or the American Diabetes Association, 8008 Slide Road, Suite 12-A, Lubbock, Texas 79424 The body will lie in state at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Home until noon on Friday, April 18, 2014.
