Flossie Mae Johnson, 93, of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, joined her beloved family in heaven on May 4, 2014. Memorial services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 7, 2014, at First Christian Church in Pampa, Texas with Dr. Jeff Knighton, pastor, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Flossie was born March 19, 1921 in Vandalia, Illinois. She was the first of twelve children born to William E. and Odean Cripe Gelsinger. She married Edwin Earl Odell on April 15, 1939 and had two daughters, Marilyn Sue and Nancy Kay. The family moved to Dollarhide, Texas in 1947 and their third daughter, Janell was born. After Eddie’s death in 1957, Flossie moved the girls to Andrews where she later met and married William Merritt (Bill) Johnson in 1960. Bill had two daughters, Becky and Judy, from a previous marriage, and their daughter, Jennifer Jo was born later that year. A longtime resident of Pampa, Flossie had lived the past six years in Gentry, Arkansas with her daughter Janell. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Eddie Odell and Bill Johnson; a daughter Nancy Scoggin; a sister, Esther; and an infant brother. Survivors include three daughters, Marilyn Sue Odell Harlan and husband Will Goza (Bill) Harlan, Janell Odell, and Jennifer Jo Johnson George and husband Kevin George; son-in-law, James Morris Scoggin; six grandchildren, William Russell (Rusty) Harlan, Debra Kay Harlan Houdelette, Stacey Lynn Harlan Benningfield, James Michael Merritt Scoggin, Crystal George Bruns, and Cody George; seven great-grandchildren, William R. Harlan, Jr., Jessica Kate Harlan Sexton, Donna Suzanne Benningfield Mirtsching, Austin Gage Scoggin, Makenzie Laine Scoggin, Braylon Bruns and Caidon Bruns; two great-great-grandchildren, Dylan Elizabeth Sexton and William Lucas Harlan; six sisters, three brothers and many nieces and nephews.
