Peggy Soukup

Peggy Soukup, 85, died May 12, 2014 in Amarillo. Services will be at 2:00 PM Friday, May 16, 2014, at First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Blossom Matthews, pastor, and John Curry, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Soukup was born September 5, 1928 in Augusta, Kansas. She married Alvin Soukup on March 28, 1952 in Canton, Kansas. She had been a resident of Pampa since 1954 and had been a member of First United Methodist Church since 1958. Peggy was a member of the Pampa Chapter #65 Order of the Eastern Star, Pampa Senior Citizens Center and was active with Pampa Shrine Club for years. She enjoyed playing bridge, painting, crocheting, cooking and spending time with her family. Peggy was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister and a grandson, Jerry Keith Soukup. Survivors include her husband, Alvin Soukup of the home; a daughter, Pam Stahl and husband George of Wichita, Kansas; two sons, Mike Soukup and wife Lawaine of Pampa, and Jerry Soukup and wife Joyce of Amarillo; nine grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
