She was a graduate of Bray High School in Bray, Oklahoma. Ora Lee met Levi Preston Cox at church in Hope, Oklahoma, and she married the love of her life on Aug. 10, 1942 in Comanche, Oklahoma. Ora Lee was a stay-at-home mother, raising their two children until the mid 1960’s. After that time, she worked at Pampa Hardware and Gilbert’s Dress Shop. She retired along with her husband in the mid 1980’s so they could spend more time together and be with their family and grandchildren. The happiest times of her life were when her family was together especially at Thanksgiving and Christmas because her greatest joy was cooking for her family and friends. Ora Lee was a great daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend to all who knew her. Mrs. Cox was a resident of Pampa from 1955 until 2007, when she and her husband moved to Amarillo. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Pampa and the W. W. Harrah Sunday School Class for more than 50 years. Ora Lee was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Levi Preston Cox, on Nov. 7, 2012; an infant daughter, Gwendolyn Kay Cox; her parents; four brothers, Leon Scott, Charles Scott, Adrian Scott, and Alvin Scott; and a sister, Lillian Doughty. Survivors include a son, Sherwin Cox and wife Jenny of Amarillo; a daughter, Linda Kubiak and husband Lawrence of Houston; three grandchildren, Ty Cox and fiancée Azura Key of Fort Worth, Teela Miesner and husband Marty of Midland, and Kasi Kubiak of Houston; and by two great grandsons, Tucker and Hudson Miesner of Midland.
