William Haldane Suttle, 82, died May 15, 2014 in Amarillo. Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM Monday, 19, 2014, at Fairview Cemetery, with Dr. Jeff Knighton, pastor of First Christian Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Suttle was born March 26, 1932 in Pampa where he was a lifelong resident. He attended Pampa High School and graduated from the Wentworth Military Academy. Haldane married Marietta Archer on February 16, 1957 in Pampa. She preceded him in death on March 28, 2012. He started in the grocery business with his father; H. J. Suttle, at Suttle Grocery and Market as a meat cutter. He worked for Affiliated Foods as a meat merchandiser for 23 years, retiring in 1997. Haldane was a member of First Christian Church. He was a member of the Pampa Masonic Lodge #966 where he served as past master, and was a member of the Scottish Rite Consistory and the Khiva Temple. He enjoyed his time with the R.O.M.E.O group (Retired Old Men Eating Out) at McDonalds, and with his gaming buddies at Pampa Senior Citizens. He was also preceded in death by his parents, H. J. and Juanita Suttle; and a son, Randy Suttle. He will be greatly missed by his family, and they affectionately called him “Boppa.” Survivors include two daughters, Jeffie Lowrey and Jenifer Carter, both of Pampa; five grandchildren, Kasia Bledsoe of Wildorado, Grayson Lewis and wife Kate of Rifle, Colorado, Braden Suttle and Kaylee Suttle, both of Pampa, and Kenzie Carter of Amarillo; three great-grandchildren, Sayer Bledsoe and Sage Bledsoe, both of Wildorado, and Annamarie Suttle of Amarillo; daughter-in-law, Louan Suttle of Pampa.
