Manuel Esquevel Venegas, 83, died May 19, 2014 in Pampa. Rosary will be held at 7:00 PM Monday, May 19, 2014, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel. Funeral mass will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, with Rev. Christopher Schwind, associate pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Venegas was born June 16, 1930 to Anacleto Esquevel and Pricilana Venegas in Jeres, Mexico. He was a lifelong farmer and enjoyed his grandchildren. He attended St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Candelaria Esquevel of the home; three sons, Alfredo Esquevel of Juaraz, Chihuahua, Mexico, Victor Esquevel and Francisco Esquevel, both of Las Vegas, Nevada; five daughters, Normalilia Esquevel and Juany Esquevel, both of Ridgeland, Mississippi, Susana Vasquez of Pampa, and Maricela Esquevel and Tona Esquevel, both of Las Vegas, Nevada; three brothers, Sixto Esquevel of Las Vegas, Nevada, Bonifacio Esquevel of Phoenix, Arizona, and Antonio Esquevel of California; four sisters, Angela Esquevel Meoqui and Anita Esquevel Meoqui, both of Chihuahua, Mexico, Esperanza Esquevel and Carmen Esquevel, both of Jerez, Mexico; and 18 grandchildren.
