Barbara Raylene McGeein

Barbara Raylene McGeein, 82, of Pampa, died May 15, 2014 in Amarillo. Memorial services will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, May 22, 2014, at Central Baptist Church, with Rev. Norman Rushing, pastor, officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Raylene was born September 12, 1931 in Fresno, California to Ray O. and Lillian B. Wilson. She married Douglas McGeein on December 6, 1961 in Reno, Nevada. They moved to Pampa in 2005 and became regulars at the Pampa Senior Citizens Center where they made many wonderful friendships. She loved feeding and watching her birds and squirrels, and enjoyed arts and crafts. Raylene made many wooden birdfeeders and tiny hand painted figurines. Raylene loved the Lord with all her heart, and made her profession of faith at Central Baptist Church on February 14, 2010 at the age of 78, and was baptized the following week. She was a special lady and was much loved by so many treasured friends and relatives and will be greatly missed. She left us all with precious memories and the assurance that we will see her in heaven. She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas, on June 29, 2010; her parents; a brother-in-law, Eugene A. Bell; and a grandson, Andrew McGeein. Survivors include a son, John McGeein of Coolidge, Arizona; two grandchildren, Katie McGeein and Kevin McGeein; a sister, Joyce Bell of Sparks, Nevada; a nephew, Scott Bell of Sparks, Nevada; and a niece, Sallie Wilson of Seattle, Washington. Memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church, 513 E. Francis, Pampa, Texas 79065, or Pampa Senior Citizens Center, P.O. Box 475, Pampa, Texas 79066-0475.
