Larry Londell Turcotte, 64, of Pampa died Tuesday, May 27, 2014, in Pampa. Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM Thursday at Fairview Cemetery with Pastor Ronnie Ferguson of the McLean Cowboy Church, and Rev. Richard Bartel, associate pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Larry was born May 12, 1950 in Pampa to David Duane and Lois Black Turcotte. He was raised in Pampa with a very short stay in White Deer on the Black family farm and a short stay in Arkansas on a chicken farm. His father’s decision to bring his family back to Pampa kept Larry in Pampa for most of his life. Larry graduated from Pampa High School in 1968, and his vocation was piping designer in the oil and gas industry. This vocation placed Larry in California and Houston for a while but city life was not for him, and he returned to Pampa in the early 1980’s working at many chemical and gas plants in and around Pampa. Larry married Karen Riddle and from that union Larry’s daughter, Lissa Kay Turcotte Garren, was born in 1969. He later married Berinda Rogers Walters. Larry’s real love was making knives. His custom made hunting knives are a beautiful example of his extraordinary talent as a craftsman. In his later years, he resumed a long interrupted relationship with Jesus Christ. He was quiet about this relationship but his heart was full of his Savior. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and served as a greeter at the front door. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents, David and Amalie Turcotte and George and Effie Black, and a sister-in-law, Johnnie Rogers. Survivors are his wife, Berinda; his daughter, Lissa Garren, her husband Jason and their children Jaelyn Hanbury and husband Micah, Ryce Garren, and Mason Garren; a stepson, Zane Walters, his wife Melissa, and their children, Brittany and Bailee Walters; his sister, Venita Gray, her husband Bill, and their children Joy Gray Shadid, husband Corby, and son Wil, and Clark Gray and Katherine Gray; his mother-in-law, Juanita Rogers; 4 brothers-in-law, Douglas Rogers and his wife Wanda, Benton Rogers, Dwight Rogers and his wife Rhonda, and Stephen Rogers and his wife, Debbie. Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 900 E. 23rd, Pampa, TX 79065 or McLean Cowboy Church, P. O. Box 89, McLean, TX 79057.
