Shirley Mae Austin

Shirley Austin, 82, of Denton, died May 29, 2014 in Denton. Graveside services will be a 1:00 PM Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at Fairview Cemetery in Pampa, with Pastor Kyle Ohsfeldt of Grace Baptist Church of Pampa, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Miss Austin was born December 5, 1931 in Pampa to Grover Cleveland and Annie Mae Anglin Austin, and she was one of eleven children. She was a graduate of Pampa High School and was a longtime resident of Pampa and Amarillo before moving to Denton in 2006. Shirley was an avid golfer and reader. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Premier Golden Heart Health Care Service in Denton for their wonderful care of Shirley. Survivors include three nieces, April Hudson and husband Leonard of Colleyville, Patricia Hutchinson and husband Kenny of Clinton, Oklahoma, and Kebby Mitchell and husband Kent of Amarillo; and several great nieces and great nephews. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 8008 Slide Road, Suite 12-A, Lubbock, Texas 79424, or to a favorite charity.
