Norma Jeanne Sims

Norma Jeanne Sims, 83, of Lefors, died June 18, 2014 in Pampa. Graveside services will be at 4:00 PM Saturday, June 21, 2014, at Memorial Heights Cemetery in Lefors, with David White, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mrs. Sims was born August 5, 1930 in Winfield, Kansas. She had been a resident of Lefors since 1941, graduating from Lefors High School. Jeanne married Harold Sims on August 17, 1948. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, fishing and reading. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Jeanne was a member of the United Methodist Church of Lefors for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bud and Nellie Staley; and a great-granddaughter, Kayte Jeanne Morton. Survivors include her husband of over 65 years, Harold Sims, of the home; a daughter, Cheryl Butler and husband Jimmy of Winters; a son, Hal Sims and wife Mignon of Ruidoso, New Mexico; a sister, Joann Coberly of Bentonville, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Jeanna Morton, Coby Sims and Jason Butler; and two great-grandchildren, Jace Ann Morton and Jake Alan Morton.
