Minelle attended Pampa schools, participating in the Pep Squad and graduating Pampa High School in 1939. From the time of her birth, Minelle attended First Baptist Church, Pampa, being baptized as a member at the age of 12. She was the oldest continuing member of the church, a tenure of almost 80 years. She was a central part of warm, happy memories of family gatherings and holiday celebrations, lovingly preparing special meals from recipes often times passed down for generations of the Baird family. She loved to sew and quilt, and her hands were never idle when she sat down in her chair. She was a member of the Pampa Twentieth Century Study Club, the PTA, Pampa Genealogical Society, Gray County Historical Society, and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was very proud of her family heritage and had traced the Baird and Williams lines back many generations.
