Susie Cooper Trout, 107, of McLean, died Friday, June 20, 2014, in Pampa. Services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at McLean Cowboy Church with Pastor Ronnie Ferguson, her grandson, officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in McLean under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mrs. Trout was born Aug. 22, 1906 in Indian Territory, Oklahoma to William Robert and Julia Elizabeth Hale Cooper. She came to the Panhandle area in 1929 in covered wagon. She married James Wesley Trout on March 17, 1929 near Bellevue, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1950. Susie was a longtime resident of McLean before moving to Pampa in 2011. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in McLean. She was a caregiver for her family and friends for many years. Susie loved flowers, gardening, and cooking. Survivors include five daughters, Maudie Alexander of Lefors, Joyce Ortega and husband Julian and Bonnie Baker and husband A. J., all of Amarillo, Donna Fulton and husband James and Susie Ferguson and husband Cecil, all of Pampa; a stepdaughter, Vada Matthews of McLean; two daughters-in-law, Jennie Trout of Amarillo and Anna Trout of Burkburnett; two brothers, Archie Cooper of McLean and Clarence Cooper of Amarillo; 41 grandchildren, and numerous great, great great, and great great great grandchildren. Susie was also preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Wesley Trout and Thomas Trout, two stepdaughters, Birtie Lee Smith and Myrtle Holloway, four sisters, and three brothers.
