Aubrey Joe Carlton

Aubrey Joe Carlton, 83, of Pampa, died Saturday, June 21, 2014, in Pampa. Services will be at 4:30 PM Tuesday, June 24, 2014, in Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Dale Meadows, Church of Christ minister, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Mr. Carlton was born Sept. 25, 1930 in Miami, Texas to Joe and Oleta Carlton. He attended Pampa schools and Pampa High School. He married Grace Lee Welborn on Aug. 17, 1950 in Pampa. She preceded him in death on Nov. 11, 2007. Aubrey was a self-employed contractor in oilfield construction and owned Western Concrete in Pampa. Aubrey was a member of the Mary Ellen and Harvester Church of Christ. Survivors include five daughters, Joyce Ann Hollenshead and husband Robert of Grand Saline, Martha Sue Walker and husband Terry of Colleyville, Doris Jo Ross and husband Jim of Coral Cove, Florida, Mollie Elizabeth Weber and husband Richard of Conroe, and Sarah June Hollis and husband J. R. of Pampa; a son, Marvin Carlton and wife Linda of Pampa; a sister, Margaret Ann Welton and husband John Lee of Jefferson City, Tennessee; a brother, Dan Carlton of Frisco; 15 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
