Wallace Joe "Pappy" Jouett

Wallace Joe “Pappy” Jouett, 81, died June 24, 2014 in Amarillo. Services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at Hobart Baptist Church, with Johnny Saunders, his nephew, and Pastor Mike Watson of Hobart Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery with Justin Jouett, his grandson, a Church of Christ minister, officiating. Military honors are courtesy of U. S. Air Force, Altus AFB, Altus, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Jouett was born December 18, 1932 in Estelline. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force, serving honorably during the Korean Conflict. Wallace was married to his high school sweetheart for 61 years, and had been a resident of Pampa for 51 years. He was a member of Hobart Baptist Church. Wallace was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Clessie Jouett; his daughter, Vickie Maxey; his daughter-in-law, Terry Jouett; a grandson, Zachary Jouett; and two sisters, Sibbie Saunders and Juanita Luster. Survivors include his wife, Jacque Jouett of the home; his son, Ronnie Jouett of Pampa; a brother, Gene Jouett of Estelline; a sister, Louise Mills of Amarillo; 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30 PM, Monday, June 30, 2014, at the funeral home.
