Manuela “Melita” Hernandez, 81, died June 25, 2014 in Pampa. Services will be at 2:00 PM Monday, June 30, 2014, at Memory Gardens Mausoleum, with Rev. Christopher Schwind, associate pastor of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Hernandez was born December 25, 1932 in Tamaulipas, Mexico. She had been a resident of Pampa for the past year, moving from Canadian where she had resided for eight years. Melita was a babysitter for several families. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Canadian. She loved to cook for her family and was a hard working woman. Survivors include three sons, Eladio Garcia and Martin Quintano, both of Pampa, and Guadalupe Hinojosa of Tamaulipas, Mexico; six grandchildren, including Silvia Hinojosa Lara of Pampa, Sandra Hinojosa, Jaqueline Hinojosa, Cynthia Hinojosa, and Clarissa Hinojosa, all of Cactus; and a great-grandson, Onix Gilberto Lara of Pampa.
