Irene Smith Hunt, 90, of Pampa, died July 8, 2014 in Pampa. Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, July 11, 2014 at Hillcrest Cemetery in McLean, with Rev. Z. A. Myers, retired Assembly of God minister, and Rev. Philip Elsheimer, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Hunt was born February 23, 1924 in Henryetta, Oklahoma. She married Ray Hunt on June 4, 1942 in Sayre, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on May 21, 1973. She had been a resident of Borger from 1951 until 1961, moving to McLean in 1961, and then to Pampa in 1979. Irene worked for Marie Foundations as a factory worker, retiring in 1979 after 14 years, and then worked at Furr’s Cafeteria as the “salad lady,” retiring in 1988. She was a member of the Assembly of God. Irene was preceded in death by a sister, Lucille Shelton in 2011; 2 brothers, J. E. Smith, Jr., in 1971 and Hershel Smith in 2012; and a great-granddaughter, Emmalynn Hunt in 2013. Survivors include two sons, Brad R. Hunt and wife Mary, and Jim R. Hunt and wife Rhonda, all of Pampa; 1 sister, Gladys Stewart of Pampa; 1 brother, Ernest L. Smith of Amarillo; six grandchildren, Leslie Hunt and wife Jean of Midland, Curtis Dwayne Hunt and wife Debra and Ray Hunt and wife Sabrina, all of Palmer, Alaska, Kevin Hunt and wife Shawna and Michael Hunt and wife Ceeli, all of Pampa, and Isis Hunt of Willow, Alaska; and 14 great-grandchildren; Heather Schumacher, Brandon Hunt, Braden Hunt, Ethan Hunt, Carsyn Hunt, Austin Hunt, Kindle Hunt, Hayden Hunt, Thomas Hunt, Eric Hunt, Katie Ace, Emily Ace, Michael Schiffman, and Kevin Schiffman.
