Al Macomb, 65, of White Deer, died July 8, 2014 in Amarillo. Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 12, 2014, at White Deer Cemetery, with Rev. Alan Wilson, pastor of First Baptist Church of White Deer, officiating. Military honors are courtesy of the U. S. Army, and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mr. Macomb was born September 9, 1948 in Bristow, Oklahoma. He lived in Oklahoma before moving to Amarillo where he attended schools, including Palo Duro High School. After high school, he enlisted in the U. S. Army. Later, he returned to Amarillo and then moved to White Deer where he lived up until the time of his death. Al worked for several years at Natural Gas Pipeline. In his spare time, he liked the outdoors where he enjoyed fishing, gardening and sitting on his patio. He will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather who was a very generous man and who always put others first. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends. Al was preceded in death by his mother, Willa Mae Gilmore, and a brother, Nolan Macomb. Survivors include two daughters, Kellie Brown of Amarillo and Amanda Cleveland and husband Todd of Allen; his father, Claude Gilmore of Amarillo; four granddaughters, Amarah Muniz and Miranda Allgood, both of Amarillo, and Madison Cleveland and Avery Cleveland, both of Allen; and a grandson, Andrew Harley of Amarillo.
