Frances Earle Trammell Heare, 91, of Miami, died July 12, 2014 in Miami. There are no services scheduled. The body will lie in state at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Home in Pampa on Tuesday and Wednesday, July 15th and 16th from 8:00 AM until 8:00 PM, and the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Heare was born December 21, 1922 in Kannapolis, North Carolina. She married Leroy C. Heare and moved to Texas. She attended West Texas State University in Canyon, receiving her B.S. and Master’s degrees. She was an elementary school teacher for over 30 years, retiring in California, after which, she and Leroy returned to Miami. Frances loved teaching and was always grateful that she was able to teach. She loved her Lord, talking, reading, music, traveling, eating, and “antiquing.” She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy, her parents, Lela and Judge Trammell, 3 sisters and 3 brothers. We will all miss Frances, but she is now free of her earthly physical chains and is traveling peacefully down a heavenly road. Survivors include her son, Rannie Heare of Lindsay, Oklahoma; her daughter, Connie Heare of Miami; two granddaughters, Michelle Mayfield and husband Ty of Amarillo, and Holly Williamson and husband Scott of Corpus Christi; and five great-grandchildren, Lauren, Brady, Madi, Hunter and Brooke. There are special friends whom she loved, and she also loved her other “children,” Wally, Tuffykatt, Emily and Princess. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch, P.O. Box 1890, Amarillo, TX 79174-0001.
