Laquita “Kita” Whiteley, 83, of Fritch, died July 30, 2014 in Fritch. Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 2, 2014, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel in Pampa, with Richard Kasko, minister of Fritch Church of Christ, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mrs. Whiteley was born July 11, 1931 in Rochester, Texas. She had been a resident of Pampa since 1964, moving to Fritch about three years ago. She married Leonard Whiteley on August 18, 1951 in Rochester. He preceded her in death on March 7, 1991. Kita was a Church of Christ. She was a home health aide for over ten years. She enjoyed crocheting, taking care of plants, and volunteering at the clothing room at Mary Ellen & Harvester Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by a sister, Berna Epley. Survivors include two daughters, Lecia Miller of Fritch and Lana Whitely of Pampa; two sons, Danny Whitely and wife Belinda of Willow Park and Terry Whiteley and wife Tina of Pampa; a sister, Del Huntsman of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
