Lora Esther Alexander Baggerman

Lora Esther Alexander Baggerman, 76, of Groom, passed away August 4, 2014 in Gray County. Services will be at 2:00 PM Friday, August 8, 2014, at United Methodist Church in Groom, with Rev. Todd Dyess, pastor, and Pastor Paul Carruth of Chalice Abbey of Amarillo, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Pampa, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mrs. Baggerman was born April 6, 1938 in Amarillo. She had been a resident of Pampa before moving to Groom in 1954. She married Ruben Baggerman on January 31, 1954 and worked alongside him in the fields for 60 years. Lora was a member of the United Methodist Church in Groom and the Pampa Chapter #65 Order of the Eastern Star. She loved painting and owned Granny’s Paint Box in Pampa where she taught painting to many. She was a loving wife, mother and “Granny.” She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Linda Alexander in 1946; her parents, Verson T. Alexander in 1988 and Johnnie Alexander in 2008; two brothers, Vernon Duane Alexander in 2000 and Charles Alexander in 2003; and a son, Isaac Baggerman, II in 2012. Survivors include her husband, Ruben Baggerman of the home; two daughters, Margie Anthony and husband Stan of Groom, and Teresa McKelvey and husband Butch of Lubbock; a son, John Mark Baggerman and wife Lora of Pampa; a daughter-in-law, Jeana Baggerman of Lubbock; a sister-in-law, Darla Alexander of Kennewick, Washington; 10 grandchildren, Renee McKinley and husband Bill of Groom, Melissa Anthony and Andy York of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Mandi McKelvey, Jonni McKelvey, Brice McKelvey, Jessica Baggerman, Isaac Baggerman, III, and John Dean Baggerman, all of Lubbock, Ty Baggerman of Pampa, and Chad Bowles and wife Marla of Canadian; 2 great-grandsons, Tristan McKinley of Groom, and Hunter Ward of Canadian; and many, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
