Larry Wayne "Paw Paw" Gilbreath, 60, of Lefors, died Friday, Aug. 8, 2014 in Pampa. Services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 12, 2014, at First Baptist Church of Lefors with Brother Dean Young, pastor of First Baptist Church in Ft. Towson, Oklahoma and Rev. Ken Houston, pastor of First Baptist Church in Lefors, officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Heights Cemetery in Lefors under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Larry was born June 6, 1954 in Dumas, Texas. He worked at Cabot Franks for 10 years before moving to the Cabot Carbon Black Division, where he retired after 25 years of service. He coached little league, senior league, and fast pitch softball for 16 years. He was a member of the Lefors Volunteer Fire Department for 15 years and an EMT instructor for 5 years. He has been a member of the First Baptist Church of Lefors for 51 years, and in his younger years, he served as music minister. He married Rhonda Howard on May 10, 1974. He enjoyed golfing, wood working, road trips, and spending time with his family, especially his grandbabies. Larry is survived by his wife of 40 years, Rhonda Gilbreath of the home; 2 daughters, Starla Hamilton and husband Shane and Amber Arnzen and husband Bryan all of Pampa; his parents, Dean and Delena Young of Ft. Towson, Oklahoma; a brother, Jim Gilbreath and wife Chris of Pearland; a sister, Linda Cooley of Heartland; 4 grandchildren, Skyler Hamilton, Kadence Arnzen, Alexandra Arnzen, and Kassandra Arnzen; his mother-in-law, Bobbie Howard of Lefors and numerous nieces and nephews. The family request memorials to the National Kidney Foundation, Texas Division, 5429 Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway, Suite 250, Dallas, Texas 75240, or Lefors Federal Credit Union, 117 E. 2nd, Lefors, Texas 79054. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Monday at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Home.
