Michael Eugene Horton

Michael Eugene Horton, 53, of Pampa, died August 10, 2014 in Amarillo. Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Friday, August 22, 2014, at Bible Baptist Church, with Rev. Bob Hudson, pastor, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Horton was born May 4, 1961 in Pampa. He attended Pampa schools. After school, he entered the oil and gas industry where he worked for over 31 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed the outdoors where he liked riding his motorcycle, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Shannon Horton. Survivors include two sons, Michael Horton, Jr., of Childress and Mack Horton of Abilene; a daughter, Tamara Horton and her significant other, Derek Kindle of Pampa; two sisters, Sherry Bolch of Pampa, and Cynthia Meeks and husband Robert of Amarillo; a brother, Jerry Horton and wife Carla of Panhandle; eight grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
