Steve Mott, 58, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014, in Amarillo. Memorial services will be at 5:00 PM Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Polk Street United Methodist Church in Amarillo, with Rev. Frank Cordova, missionary, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mr. Mott was born March 20, 1956 in Amarillo. He was a 1974 graduate of Tucumcari High School in Tucumcari, New Mexico. In 1975, he joined the U. S. Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1979 as a lance corporal. Steve was employed at Montgomery Ward for about 15 years and later worked for IRI Paint Contractors in Amarillo for several years. He was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Pat Mott. Survivors include a sister, Lea Morris and husband Larry of Pampa; a niece, Stephanie Livingston and husband Kenny of Fritch; a great nephew, KeyShawn Morris of Fritch; several cousins and numerous friends.
