Kathleen Weinheimer Dickey, 83 of Elkridge, Maryland, formerly of Pampa, Texas, made her final move into the arms of her Father in Heaven on August 24, 2014 in Elkridge. Vigil services will be held at 7:00 PM Monday, September 1, 2014 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel in Pampa, Texas, with Rev. Christopher Schwind, associate pastor of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church of Pampa, officiating. Funeral mass will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church in Pampa, with Rev. John Valdez, pastor of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Amarillo, and Shaun Smithson, her grandson, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Pampa, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Kathleen was born in Fredericksburg, Texas to Albert and Theresa Weinheimer, and her family later moved to Groom, Texas. She married Joseph G. Dickey on November 28, 1953 in Groom, and they eventually settled in Pampa in 1964. She was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church in Pampa. In Pampa, she helped her husband in his CPA practice for many years. In June of 2010, she moved to Elkridge, Maryland to live with her only daughter and son-in-law, Katrina and James Smithson. During her time in Maryland she got to spend time with her grandchildren and all nine of her great grandchildren. They loved their “Oma” very much. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph G. Dickey, on June 19, 1992, her parents, Albert and Theresa Weinheimer, a sister, Eugenia Byard, two brothers-in-law, Jack Quirk and Ray Byard, and sister-in-law, Janice Weinheimer. She is survived by her daughter Katrina Smithson and husband James of Elkridge, Maryland; granddaughter, Michelle Conner and husband Josh of Argyle, Texas; grandson, Shaun Smithson and wife Jennifer of Ellicott City, Maryland; nine great grandchildren, Kade, Mikaelyn, Rylan, Tucker and Adyson Conner and Alexis, Caly, Sayer and Zoen Smithson; two sisters, Antoinette Quirk of Amarillo, Texas and Theresa Swiger and husband Phil of Bedford, Texas; and two brothers James Weinheimer of Groom, Texas and Pat Weinheimer and wife Maggie of Amarillo, Texas.
