W.C. "Bud" Kennedy

December 31, 1924 — August 28, 2014

Services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 3, 2014 in Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rev. Norman Rushing, pastor of Central Baptist Church and Rev. Paul Nachtigall, Interim Hospice Chaplain, officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in McLean with military honors by the U. S. Navy. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Kennedy was born on December 31, 1924 in McLean. He has been a resident of Pampa since 1989, moving from McLean after 55 years. He married Jeanette Simpson on November 7, 1947 in Pampa. She preceded him in death on July 23, 2011. He was a Navy veteran serving in WWII in the south Pacific. Mr. Kennedy was a pumper/operator for Chevron for 38 years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of Central Baptist Church and a member of the McLean Masonic Lodge#889 A.F & A.M where he served as Worshipful Master. W.C. was preceded in death by his grandson, Garrett Kennedy, 4 sisters, Hazel Archer, Delma Corbin, Louise Gordon, and Deon Brooks, and 1 brother, Paul Kennedy. Survivors include one daughter, Judy Green and husband Huey of Bay City; 2 sons, Ricky Kennedy and wife Bobbie of Amarillo, and Randy Kennedy of Clarendon; one sister, Bettye Ferguson of Avinger; 4 grandchildren, Brent Green, Brittney Green, Addison Ellison, and Mazzy Budd. Family suggest memorials be made to Central Baptist Church, 513 E. Francis, Pampa, Texas 79065. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Sign the online register at www.carmichael-whatley.com
