Beverley Ann Bonnell Carruth

April 16, 1938 — September 18, 2014

Beverley Ann Bonnell Carruth, 76, of Pampa, died September 18, 2014 in Pampa. Services will be at 2:00 PM Monday September 22, 2014 at the First Christian Church with the Rev. Paul Carruth, pastor of Chalice Abbey in Amarillo, and the Rev. Dr. Jeff Knighton, pastor of the First Christian Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Beverley was born on April 16, 1938 in Wewoka/Holdenville, Oklahoma. After a short stay in Pampa early in childhood, Beverley moved to Pampa in 1953 and graduated from Pampa High School in 1956. She also graduated from Draughon Business College, in Tulsa, Okla. Beverley married C. Dayne “Red” Carruth on May 21, 1960 in Clovis, New Mexico, and they made their home for most of the next fifty years in Pampa. In the first few years of marriage Beverley worked in the insurance and utilities industries, but her primary work and passion was being a homemaker in every sense of the word. Beverley was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who tirelessly worked to care and provide for her beloved husband Dayne, her son Jeff, and her cherished grandson Jackson. Beverley and Dayne were an inseparable and unbreakable team from the moment that they met in the 1950s through fifty years of marriage. Their greatest passions were enjoying time with Jackson and Jeff and remodeling houses to provide a warm and comfortable place for the family. With Dayne’s carpentry skills and her knack for decorating, side-by-side and hand-in-hand they recast six houses into beautiful homes, concluding with their greatest work on Mary Ellen. Beverley was preceded in death by her husband, C. Dayne “Red” Carruth on March 5, 2010, her father Walter Ray Bonnell, her mother Marguerite (Margie) Mahala Beaver Bonnell, and a sister, Karen Rae Bonnell James. Survivors include her son Jeffery Dayne Carruth and grandson Jackson Dayne Carruth of Dallas, brother James Bonnell and wife Karon of Pampa, and numerous nieces and nephews. Beverley also leaves behind numerous treasured friends including Alicia Heil and Janice Tucker who provided tremendous support in the years following Dayne’s death, and the special angels who attended her final days, Caprice Mayhew, Donna Gordy, and Paula Burns. Memorials: Gray County Chapter, American Cancer Society, c/o Gerry Caylor, 2130 Charles St., Pampa, TX, 79065 or First Christian Church, 1633 N. Nelson, Pampa, TX 79065.
