Ralph Peters, 76, of Pampa, died October 29, 2014 in Pampa. Services will be 2:00 PM Friday, October 31, 2014, at First Baptist Church, with Rev. Byron Williamson, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Peters was born December 7, 1937 in Levelland. He married Joyce Wiley on May 10, 1959 in Levelland. He accepted Jesus as his personal savior on March 17, 1972 at First Baptist Church in Hooker, Oklahoma. He had been a resident of Pampa since 1977. Ralph was an oil and gas producer for 58 years, working for Cities Service until 1982, and then later partnered with Benny Kirksey to start Ananda Energy. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he sang in the choir for many years. Ralph enjoyed his cabin in Colorado that he built in 1990 with his son and brother-in-law. He loved to fish, ride his 4-wheeler, ski, and cook steaks for his family. His grandchildren were the love of his life. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Almon and Willie Peters, four sisters, two brothers, a granddaughter, Jessica Cook, and a grandson, Caleb Cook. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Peters of the home; two daughters, Lisa Needham of Denton and Sherae Peters of Alpharetta, Georgia; a son, Derek Peters and wife Teresa of Pampa; a sister, Peggy Gillespie of Brownfield; seven grandchildren, Jereomy Braddock of Denton, Sarah Peters of Alpharetta, Georgia, Halee Hindelang and husband Josh of Canton, Georgia, Brodie Peters and wife Sara, and Zachary Peters, all of Pampa, Chase Cook of DeSoto, and Katelyn Peters of Pampa; two great-grandchildren, Adalee Hindelang and Elijiah Hindelang, both of Canton, Georgia.
