Steve W. Treat, 78, of Pampa, died October 30, 2014 in Amarillo. Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 1, 2014, at Hillcrest Cemetery in McLean, with Rev. Rick Parnell, associate pastor of Central Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Treat was born March 24, 1936 in Watts, Arkansas. He married Frances Chapman on February 19, 1955 in Shamrock. He retired from the Army National Guard as Sergeant First Class, after 30 years of service. Steve was the greatest joke teller ever. He could fix anything and was a Dallas Cowboys fan. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. Steve was preceded in death by an infant son, Gary Leon Treat; a granddaughter, Shonci Wing; five brothers and three sisters. Survivors include his wife, Frances Treat of the home; two daughters, Vickie Broadstreet of Pampa, and Charolette Willett of Amarillo four grandchildren, Shawn Treat and wife Sara, Scotty Willett and wife Ashley, Steven Willett and Shane Willett; and five great-grandchildren, McKennzie and Tyler Willett, Evan, Bradyn and Brenyn Treat. The family wishes to extend special thanks for the love and care received from Vicky Ward and Kathy Johnson from Encompass Home Health. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, October 31, 2014, at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Home.
