Ernest Lamar “Rusty” Huff, 79, of Pampa, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014 in Pampa. Services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014, in Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Keith Feerer, minister of Mary Ellen & Harvester Church of Christ, and C. V. McQueen, lay minister, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Huff was born Jan. 16, 1935 in a ranch house on the Emmett Lefors Ranch in Roberts County. He attended schools in Miami and Sterling City. Rusty was a lifelong cowboy. He was a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps and the U. S. Army. Rusty was baptized in the Mary Ellen & Harvester Church of Christ in Pampa. He was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous. Rusty was preceded in death by his parents, Pike and Audry Huff, a son, Walter Dean Huff, two sisters, Moleta Clark and Mary Moore, and a brother, Marvin Dean Huff. Survivors include four daughters, Monte Ann Cox and husband David of Amarillo, Tina Marie Williams of Moore, Oklahoma, Lariat Kay Huff of Layton, Utah, and Vashti Faye Huff of Alexandria, Virginia; seven sisters, Virginia Horton and husband Red, Judy Grant and husband Larry Loter, and Ann Banister, all of Amarillo; Mellvinia Stocking of Pampa, Norma Mitchell of Geronimo, Oklahoma, Monty Kay Schaub of Oak Brook, Illinois, and Dian Smith of Denver, Colorado; a brother, Billy George Huff of Pampa; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
