June Thacker, 82, of Pampa, died December 3, 2014 in Pampa. Services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, December 6, 2014, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rev. Richard Bartel, associate pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Heights Cemetery in Lefors, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Thacker was born April 26, 1932 in Phoenix, Arizona. She had been a resident of Pampa since 1967. She married Jack Thacker on October 12, 1967 in Amarillo. He preceded her in death on June 19, 2003. She was the bookkeeper for Jack’s Oilfield Service for 29 years, retiring in 1997. June was a former member of First Baptist Church in Lefors, and was a current member of Calvary Baptist Church in Pampa. She was preceded in death by her son, O.C. Akins; a daughter, Leona Gail Freeman; a brother, James Hill; and a grandson,Cody Freeman. Survivors include two sisters, Beneva Adams of Pampa and Marie Skaggs of Memphis; two nieces, Kim Blythe of Pampa and Lequeta Logan of Amarillo; a stepson, Robert Thacker of Lefors; three stepdaughters, Sue Todd of Lefors, Connie Parks of Pampa, and Meledy Story of Del Norte, Colorado; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
