Lucina Tovar Silva, 77, of Pampa, died December 4, 2014. Vigil services will be at 7:00 PM Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, and mass will be celebrated at 2:00 PM Monday, December 8, 2014, at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church with Rev. Francisco Perez, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Silva was born in El Aguaje, Cardenas, San Luis Potosi, Mexico. She came to Pampa in 1978, living here ever since. She worked in the food service industry and was self-employed for many years. She was very active at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church. In her free time she enjoyed working in her garden. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. Lucina was a hard working woman who provided and cared for all her children. She set great examples for her family that included sacrifice, hard work and unconditional love. Lucina was a selfless woman who always put family and others before herself. May the work she has done speak for her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rosalio Tovar and Austreberta Moreno; three brothers, Rafael Tovar, Evaristo Tovar and Manuel Tovar; and a sister, Lupita Tovar. Survivors include her husband, Victor Manuel Silva of Mexico; five daughters, Rosalva Silva and husband Pascacio of Houston, Consuelo Jones and husband Jeffery of Amarillo, Olga Silva of Dallas, Martha Zavala and husband Antonio of Pampa and Patricia Griffin and husband Patrick of Amarillo; two sons, David Silva and wife Elda of Houston and Jesse Silva and wife Nikki of Amarillo; 23 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one-on-the-way; and many nieces and nephews.
