Edward Stroud, 84, of Pampa, died December 5, 2014 in Pampa. Services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at Trinity Fellowship, with Rev. Lonny Robbins and Ronnie Goode, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery with military honors courtesy of Altus Air Force Blue Knights Honor Guard. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Stroud was born October 20, 1930 in Gem City and graduated from Canadian High School. He had been a resident of Pampa since 1955. He married Carolyn Reed on December 26, 1956 in Clayton, New Mexico. Ed was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force, serving during the Korean Conflict as a draftsman. He was a clerk for the U. S. Postal Service for 30 years, retiring on October 31, 1985. After his retirement, he and Carolyn had a wholesale costume jewelry business where they traveled around together from 1987-1994. Ed was a member of Trinity Fellowship where he served as a director of the food outreach program and later helped start and run the Harvest House until 2012. Ed also was active in the Kids Cafe. Ed was preceded in death by his daughter, Lynda Bruce, on October 25, 2014, 2 sisters, Deanie Powers in 2006, and Gwen Brock in 2000. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Stroud of the home; 2 grandsons, Ryan Bruce and wife Tracy, and Christian Bruce and wife Bobbi, all of Pampa; a brother, Cliff Stroud of Wichita Falls; 7 great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Madison, Austin, Tucker, Jaelyn, Claire and Gary.
