Bobby “Smokey” Stover, 76, of Pampa, died Saturday, December 6, 2014, in Pampa. Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014, at Memory Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Jim Sinyard, pastor of the Carpenter’s Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Stover was born April 20, 1938, in Telephone, Texas. He had been a resident of Pampa for the past 12 years after moving from Skellytown, where he resided for 22 years. Smokey married Jeanetta Smith on July 29, 1957 in Borger. He was a heavy equipment operator who worked all over the Panhandle area and other states, in Borger he was known as “Picker”. He was a Borger city firefighter for three years, and he had a great love for music his entire life and he loved to listen and play classic country music. Jeanetta was the love of his life but music was his passion. Survivors include his wife, Jeanetta, of the home; three sons, Randy Stover and Bobby Stover and wife Linda, all of Pampa, and Robert Stover and wife Nita of Skellytown; a daughter, Deborah Williams of Houston; eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Smokey was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee and Rosa Ella Stover, seven brothers, two sisters, a granddaughter, and a great granddaughter.
