Patsy Cox Stewart, 83, of Pampa, died December 14, 2014 in Amarillo. Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Friday, December 19, 2014, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Dr. Lewis Holland, pastor of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Stewart was born May 20, 1931 in Wichita Falls. As a young girl, her family moved to Pampa where she attended Pampa schools, graduating from Pampa High School in 1949. Shortly after graduation, she married Paul Stewart, Sr., on April 19, 1950 in Clovis, New Mexico. Patsy was the last charter member of St. Paul United Methodist Church where she was also a member of the Women’s Society of Christian Service. She volunteered for Good Samaritan Christian Services and Kid’s Café. She worked in the jewelry business her whole life, working at Zales and Rheams Diamond Shop. Patsy had a servant’s heart, serving her Lord and her family. God and her family always came first. Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice “Lefty” Cox and Virginia Roberson Cox; a brother, Tom Cox; and a step daughter, Sheila Kidd. Survivors include her husband, Paul Stewart, Sr., of the home; a daughter, Stephane Rheams and husband Ken of Pampa; a son, Paul Stewart, Jr., and wife Sherry of Mansfield; a brother, Jack Cox and wife Martha of Mineola; three grandsons, Matt Rheams and wife Hayley of Dewey, Oklahoma, Brad Stewart and wife Sara of Plano, and Kevin Stewart of Mansfield; a granddaughter, Kim Bigham and husband Derek of McCloud, Oklahoma; eight great-grandchildren, Cory, Bre, Brandon, Jacob, Halle, Tristan, Kenton and Elijah; a great-great-grandson, Shane. Memorials may be offered to Good Samaritan Christian Services, 309 N. Ward, Pampa, Texas 79065, or St. Paul United Methodist Church, 511 N. Hobart, Pampa, Texas 79065.
