Doris Taylor Walsh

Doris Taylor Walsh, 91, went to be with her Lord on December 18, 2014 in Pampa. Services will be at 2:00 PM Monday, December 22, 2014, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Rev. Barry Owens, associate pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Walsh was born January 17, 1923 in Pampa to Homer and Edna Taylor. She was a lifelong resident of Pampa, graduating from Pampa High School in 1941. Doris married Chris Walsh on April 2, 1943 in Pampa. He preceded her in death in 2006. She was a member of First Baptist Church, starting with the Cradle Roll in 1924. She also belonged to the Grace Sunday school class, the Sonshine Club and the Wayside Club. She worked for Hi-Land Fashions for 19 years. Doris was a loving wife and mother. She loved family vacations and holiday gatherings, especially Christmas. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, H. B. Taylor; a sister, Dora Reeves; and a granddaughter, Laurie Henderson. Survivors include three daughters, Donna Stephens and husband Bobby of Lancaster, Becky Henderson and husband Gene of Yukon, Oklahoma, and Debbie Dalton of McLean; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Ida Ruth Price of Pampa, and a brother-in-law, Alvin Reeves of Pampa. The family wishes to offer a special thanks to the wonderful caregivers, Theresa Wells, Danielle Wells, Amy Foster, Lynette Maciel, Leticia Recendiz, Interim Hospice and Debbie Douglas.
