Jane Carnahan Bright, 79, of Miami, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2014, in Amarillo. Services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, Dec. 26, 2014, at the First Baptist Church in Miami with Rev. Dennis Williams, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mrs. Bright was born Nov. 7, 1935 in Miami to Sandy and Ada Carnahan. She was a lifelong resident of Miami and a 1954 graduate of Miami High School. Jane married Charles Nelson Bright on June 12, 1954 at the First Baptist Church in Miami. He preceded her in death in 1998. Jane was the curator of Roberts County Museum for 20 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she was church hostess for 25 years and was also the church librarian. Jane was a member of the Miami Chapter #98 Order of the Eastern Star where she held many offices. She was a member of the Miami Chamber of Commerce where she served as vice-president. She was a hospice volunteer and was the hospice volunteer coordinator. Jane was also preceded in death by her parents, a son, Wayne Bright, two brothers, and two sisters. Survivors include a son, Steven S. Bright and wife Donna of Paulden, Arizona; two granddaughters, Kanani Danner and Malani Heyman, both of Amarillo; two grandsons, Micheal Benitez and Marcus Benitez, both of Paulden, AZ; 8 great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Starlet Bright of Borger; six nieces including Sarah Northcutt of Miami and Zelda Wilson of Pampa; a nephew, Jackie Sirmans of Pampa; and several great nieces and great nephews.
