Paul E. Stewart, Sr., 91, died December 31, 2014 in Pampa. Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Monday, January 5, 2015, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Dr. Lewis Holland, pastor of St. Paul United Methodist Church, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Stewart was born May 30, 1923 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He married Patsy Cox on April 19, 1950 in Clovis, New Mexico. She preceded him in death on December 14, 2014. He had been a resident of Pampa since 1948. Paul was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving in the Pacific Theatre during World War II where he received four bronze stars. He was a self-employed construction contractor, and was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. He loved fishing and camping, and he loved his kids and grandkids. Paul and his wife were square dancers and were members of the Top O’ Texas Square Dancers Club. Paul was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sheila Jean Kidd. Survivors include his daughter, Stephane Rheams and husband Ken of Pampa; his son, Paul Stewart, Jr., and wife Sherry of Mansfield; four grandsons, Matt Rheams and wife Hayley of Dewey, Oklahoma, Brad Stewart and wife Sara of Plano, Kevin Stewart of Mansfield, and Donnie Kidd of Waco; a granddaughter, Kim Bigham and husband Derek of McCloud, Oklahoma; eight great-grandchildren, Cory, Bre, Brandon, Jacob, Halle, Tristan, Kenton and Elijah; a great-great-grandson, Shane; and a brother, Jack Stewart of Las Vegas, Nevada.
