Rosella Pearl Stout

Rosella Pearl Stout, 72, of Poolville, died Sunday, January 4, 2015 in Weatherford. Services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, January 9, 2015, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel in Pampa, with Rev. Barry Owens, associate pastor of First Baptist Church of Pampa, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Rosella was born January 23, 1942 in Shamrock. She was a 1960 graduate of White Deer High School. She married the love of her life, Hollis Edward Stout on April 23, 1960. She spent over twenty years teaching at Pampa Independent School District. She taught Sunday school at Central Baptist Church and First Baptist Church, and swimming lessons at Pampa Youth and Community Center and Pampa City Pool during her years in Pampa. After moving to Weatherford, Rosella’s greatest joy was her family, and her love of God. She lived for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed animals, such as cats and dogs, and was known for her sweet spirit. She was an avid reader and swimmer, and enjoyed baking candy and cakes for her family. Rosella was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon Leroy Chance and Pearl Parker; and her stepfather, Manuel Parker. Survivors include her devoted husband of 54 years, Hollis Edward Stout of Poolville; her two sons, Edward F. Stout and wife Sharon of Valley View, and Ricky L. Stout and wife Carla of League City; her daughter, Shelly Stout of Poolville; her two beloved sisters, Cheryl Patrick and husband Phillip of Destin, Florida, and Joan Terrell of Pampa; her brother, Richard “Dick” Chance and wife Rosemarie of Sherman; her granddaughter, Ashlie Stout of Webster; her grandson, Zachary Stout of League City; two great-granddaughters, Ansley and Zelda Rose of Webster; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Thursday, January 8, 2015, at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Home in Pampa. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 306 Palo Pinto Street, Weatherford, Texas 76086.
