Avis “Kandy” Baker Tugwell, of Amarillo, 85, died January 6, 2015 in Amarillo. Memorial services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 10, 2015, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel in Pampa, with Rev. Dr. Jeff Knighton, pastor of First Christian Church in Pampa, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mrs. Tugwell was born November 28, 1929 in Pampa. She was a 1947 graduate of Pampa High School. She married Bob Baker on July 4, 1952. He preceded her in death on August 9, 2001. She also married Charles H. “Chuck” Tugwell on June 20, 1969 in Dallas. Kandy lived in Pampa for 40 years and had lived in Amarillo for the past 30 years. She worked as an accounts payable clerk for Broome Optical in Amarillo for 30 years. She attended the Methodist church. She loved golf, bowling and dancing. Survivors include her daughter, Terri Wilterding and husband David of Amarillo; her son, Kelley Baker and wife Melody of Pampa; one grandson, Chad Wilterding of Castle Rock, Colorado; three granddaughters, Kristi Hines and husband Ryan of Round Rock, Jami Baker of Amarillo, and Shanna Stone and husband Jereme of Mansfield; and six great-grandchildren, Dylan Wilterding, Kinley Hines, Hudson Hines, Jordan Baker, Keivan Baker and Lily Stone.
