Frances Nooncaster, 94, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015, in Fayetteville. Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 15, 2015, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel in Pampa, with John Curry, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mrs. Nooncaster was born on January 16, 1920 in Seymour to Henry and Frances Marek. She attended schools in Seymour and graduated from Seymour High School in 1938. After graduating high school, she enrolled at North Texas State University in Denton and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry. Frances married Aubra Nooncaster in 1952, and he preceded her in death in 1992. She taught throughout the state of Texas and finally moved to Pampa where she taught Home Economics for several years. She attended the Church of Christ for several years. In 2008, she moved to Fayetteville to be closer to her family. Frances loved to travel and see new places whenever she could. Mrs. Nooncaster was a fun- loving woman who loved to entertain family and friends. Frances will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother, and she will be greatly missed. Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Frances Marek; two sisters, Rosalee Wilson and Ann Fojtik; and by a brother, Dr. Frank Marek. Survivors include two sons, Dr. Jerry Taintor and wife Mary Jane of WestLake Village, California and John Ray Nooncaster of Fayetteville, Ark; a granddaughter, Christine Marie Waters and husband Brandon of Germantown, Tennessee and extended family.
