Adney Parker, 81, of Amarillo, died January 14, 2015 in Amarillo. Services will be at 10:00 AM Monday, January 19, 2015, at Mary Ellen and Harvester Church of Christ in Pampa, with Rev. Barry Loving, pastor of First Christian Church of Amarillo, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Pampa, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Parker was born December 2, 1933 in Miami. She married John Parker on January 24, 1952. She was a lifelong resident of Pampa, and was a 1952 graduate of Pampa High School. She co-owned and operated Parker Boats & Motors where she served as secretary. Adney was a member of Mary Ellen & Harvester Church of Christ and was active in the women’s ministries and dedication of the library. She was a member of Pampa Art Club and was an active supporter of Pampa High School athletics. Adney loved to cook and feed her family. Adney was preceded in death by her parents, Ervin and Madeline Pursley. Survivors include her husband, John Parker of the home; four sons, Tom Parker and wife Paula of Houston, Eddy Parker and wife Patty of Amarillo, Dudley Parker and wife Janice of Canyon and Heath Parker and wife Christy of Pampa; a daughter, Rebecca Greenhouse and husband Dale of Pampa; two sisters, Mary Jackson and husband Sam and Kayla Pursley, all of Yukon, Oklahoma; 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
