William “Pappy” Moore, 74, of Pampa, died January 18, 2015 in Pampa. Services will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, January 22, 2015, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Pastor Gary Luckey of Lighthouse Covenant Fellowship, and Rev. Lynn Hancock, pastor of Briarwood Church, officiating. Graveside services will be at 3:30 PM Thursday, at Union Hatchett Cemetery in Bessie, Oklahoma, with Carl Thoinett, officiating. Military rites are courtesy of U. S. Air Force, Altus AFB, along with Masonic rites. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mr. Moore was born September 2, 1940 in Foss, Oklahoma. He married Nola Herriage on February 21, 1961 in Mangum, Oklahoma. He had been a resident of Pampa for the past nine years. William was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force, retiring after 21 years of service. He was a gunsmith, avid hunter and fisherman, and pilot. He enjoyed machining, wood working and spending time with his family. William was preceded in death by a son, Donald Moore in 2012, and two brothers, James Moore and Leon Moore. Survivors include his wife, Nola Moore of the home; a daughter, Ruby Lynn Smith and husband Stacey of Pasadena, a son, James Patric Moore of Welsboro, Pennsylvania; two brothers, Warren R. Moore and wife Letha of Enid, Oklahoma, and Donald K. Moore and wife Mary of Washington, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Crystal Moore, Jessica Moore, Dustin Smith, Casey Smith, Nicky Smith and Roberto Sumey; one great-granddaughter, Rose Stauffer; and many nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
