Rita Ann Gaines

Rita Ann Gaines, 71, of Pampa, died January 21, 2015 in Amarillo. Services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, January 24, 2015, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Rev. Charles Lowry, pastor of CrossPointe Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Gaines was born February 5, 1943 in Amherst. She was a 1961 graduate of Pampa High School. She married Ronnie Gaines on March 20, 1964 in Pampa. He preceded her in death on October 4, 2001. Rita worked at WalMart Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician for 18 years, retiring in 2002. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. Rita was preceded in death by her father, Lester Marvin Bryant. Survivors include her daughter, Kristi Gaines of Pampa; her son, Jeff Gaines of Pampa; her mother, Pauline Bryant of Pampa; her brother, Marvin Bryant of Dimmitt; and four grandchildren, Zarek Baten, Zoie Baten, Brody Gaines and Chase Gaines.
