Mary Elizabeth Brookshire

Mary Elizabeth Brookshire, 71, died January 25, 2015 in Pampa. Services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 29, 2015, at Memory Gardens Mausoleum, with Rev. Jim Yates, Interim Hospice chaplain, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Brookshire was born September 22, 1943 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. She married Martin Ray Brookshire on April 12, 1961 in Anadarko, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on February 24, 1997. She was a Baptist and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by a daughter, Katherine Gilbert; a granddaughter, BeLinda Brookshire; and a great-grandson, Phillip Hendricks. Survivors include two sons, Martin Guy Brookshire of Pampa, and Johnnie Lee Brookshire of Jacksonville, Illinois; a son-in-law, Danny Gilbert of Lefors; five brothers and sisters; two grandchildren, Melissa Newton and husband Curtis, and Rebecca Hopson and husband Edward; and a great-grandson, Damyane Gilbert.
