Roy L. Jones

Roy L. Jones, 87, died January 27, 2015, in Pampa. Services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, January 30, 2015, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Rev. Dr. Jeff Knighton, pastor of First Christian Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Jones was born October 19, 1927 in Paris, Texas. He married Katherine Lyons on August 16, 1976 in Pampa. She preceded him in death on December 23, 2009. Roy was the foreman for Texas Pipe and Metal, retiring after 28 years of service. He was a member of First Christian Church and he loved to go fishing. Roy was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Jones on December 5, 2000; seven brothers and three sisters. Survivors include two grandsons, Jeff Jones and wife Jodie of Pampa; and Kelly Jones and wife Krista of Amarillo; five great-grandchildren, Kalynn Curtis and husband Justin, Brian Jones and wife Heather, and Blake Jones, all of Pampa, and Hayden Jones and Cooper Jones, both of Amarillo; four great-great-grandchildren, Weston Jones, Lindi Jo Curtis, Haegan Curtis and Aubrie Jones, all of Pampa; three sisters, Martha Morris of Dallas, Elvira and Louise Rayburn, both of Boswell, Oklahoma; and a brother, Gary Pettit of Ackron, Ohio.
