Gloria Mae Terry slipped the surly bonds of earth on February 14, 2015 in Pampa, after 82 years of mental and physical limitations following a serious illness when she was two years of age. Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at Fairview Cemetery, with Rev. Joel Osborne, pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Miss Terry was born June 12, 1932 to Eliza Lee and Iva M. Derryberry Terry in Shamrock. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. Gloria was cared for by her mother until 1994 when Eunice McMillan became her guardian and good and faithful friend. Gloria was an only child, but her childhood was filled with many cousins and family friends who knew her as a most loving and giving person. She loved God, Roy Rogers, Elvis Presley, and almost everyone she encountered. Her joy of life was an inspiration to everyone who was privileged to know this angel on earth. Survivors include an aunt, Wilma Hart of Pampa; and several cousins, including Scot Davey and Bernie Derryberry, both of Amarillo, Margaret Bishop of Salem, Oregon, and Nita Anderson of Pampa. Memorials may be made to Pampa Sheltered Workshop, P.O. Box 2808, Pampa, Texas 79066-2808.
