Floyd Lee Lynch, 86, of Pampa, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015, in Pampa. Services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015, at Central Baptist Church with Rev. Norman Rushing, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Lynch was born Nov. 26, 1928 in Hobart, Oklahoma to William George and Bertie Mae Bass Lynch. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving from 1946-1948 in Guam. He was a member and a lifelong supporter of VFW Post #1657 in Pampa. Floyd met and married Sidney Lancaster of Mobeetie on April 23, 1949 in Hereford. They moved to Pampa in 1953. Floyd worked for Beaver Motor Company of Hereford and worked at the Hughes Building after moving to Pampa. He then worked for Cabot Machinery Division, Ingersoll-Rand, and National Oilwell/Varco and retired in January of 1991 after 39 years of service. He was honored to be able to go to China and work for 5 weeks. Floyd was very active in Central Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years. For several years, he was involved in Church Builders of Texas where he helped build churches in Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Nevada. He was preceded in death by his parents, a stepfather, two sisters, and a brother. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Sidney Lynch, of the home; a daughter, Beverly Morse and husband Larry of Pampa; two sisters, Inila Jordan and husband Tah of Amarillo and Izetta Billington of Ardmore, Oklahoma; two grandsons, Jason Reed and wife Jamie of Bushland and Preston Reed and wife Sara of Amarillo; five great grandchildren, Brayden and Addilyn Reed of Bushland, and Korbyn, Livia, and Kalei Jones, all of Amarillo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
