Marshall Edwin Andis

Marshall E. Andis, 76, of Pampa, died Friday, March 13, 2015 in Pampa. Services will be at 10:00 AM Monday at Central Baptist Church with Rev. Norman Rushing, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Heights Cemetery in Lefors under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Andis was born July 13, 1938 in Amarillo. He was raised and attended schools in Alaska, and he graduated from Santa Rosa High School in Santa Rosa, New Mexico. As a young man, he enlisted in the U. S. Army and served in the Army Reserves. He married Mary Watson on June 28, 1958 in Guymon, Oklahoma. He worked for Southwestern Public Service and later XCEL Energy for 46 years, retiring in Wheeler in 1999. In Wheeler, he was a member of First Baptist Church and Wheeler Lions Club. In 2005, he moved to Pampa where he moved his church membership to Central Baptist Church. Some of his greatest pleasures were attending his sons’ and grandchildrens’ athletic events, never missing a game. Marshall appreciated the outdoors where he loved to hunt and fish. His journey is now complete. Survivors include his wife, Mary Andis, of the home; a daughter, Cathy Montgomery and husband Joe of Pampa; two sons, Kevin Andis and wife Julie of Pampa and Robert Andis and wife Kimberly of Wheeler; a sister, Ethel Diamond of Juneau, Alaska; twelve grandchildren, Angela, Leslie, Michael, Rachael, Jennifer, Kayla, Jerad, Hannah, Abby, Zack, Garrett, and Cassidy; and fifteen great grandchildren, Taytum, Spencer, Wyatt, Saige, Levi, Alli, Macee, Sawyer, Emma, Hazel, J’Ligh, Maudi, Eli, Gema, and Zaidan. Marshall was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Andis, and a sister, Latricia White. Memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church, 513 E. Francis, Pampa, TX 79065. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00-7:30 PM on Sunday evening.
