Lillian Aldeana “Deana” Carter, 71, died March 22, 2015 in Amarillo. Services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Rev. Byron Williamson, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Carter was born March 8, 1944 in Martinez, California. She had been a resident of Pampa since 1961. She married Bill Carter on December 21, 1961 in Skellytown. She was a homemaker, and was the office manager of Carter Sand and Gravel, retiring in 2004. Deana attended First Baptist Church, and she enjoyed painting. She loved being around her grandchildren, who affectionately called her “DeDe.” Survivors include her husband, Bill Carter of the home; her son, David Carter and wife Brenda of Pampa; her daughter, Tammy Pickering of Pampa; eight grandchildren, Ryan Carter, Keri Carter, Dustin Forney and wife Candice, Trent Carter, and Braden Pickering, all of Pampa, Natashia Salas and husband Val of Brownfield, Trace Carter of Camp Pendleton, and Kyle McCullough and wife Kassie of Mansfield; five great grandchildren; a brother, Pete McGee of Houston; and a sister, Carolyn Payne and husband Allen of Hobbs, New Mexico.
