Betty Ruth Brewer Talley, 86, of Miami, passed from this earth on March 26, 2016 in Amarillo. Services will be 2:00 PM Monday, March 30, 2015, at the United Methodist Church in Miami, with Rev. Tom Stribling, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Happy, and Rev. Anthony Inman, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Miami, officiating. Burial will follow in Miami Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mrs. Talley was born January 27, 1929 in Springer, Oklahoma to Jeff and Mary Brewer and was a 1947 graduate of Mobeetie High School. She married the love of her life, Sid Talley, on February 8, 1948 in Mobeetie. Betty was the local hairdresser in Miami, serving 47 years before retiring from a profession that she loved. She was a longtime member of both First Baptist Church and United Methodist Church. Her lifetime joys were horseback riding, sewing, dancing, and card playing. But most of all, Betty loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by a sister, Beulah Grimes. Survivors include her husband, Sid Talley of the home; daughter, Jeffna McKinney and husband Kermit of Marietta, Oklahoma; son, Joe Talley of Miami; brother, Orvel Brewer and wife Rosa of Pampa; and two sisters, Audrey Alexander, and Mary Sue Stephenson and husband Lynn, all of Amarillo; three grandchildren, Chase McKinney, Reese Talley and Trinity Chambers and husband Kevin; and two great grandchildren, Ryan and Callie Chambers. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 PM Sunday at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Home.
